Happy Birthday Floral Cluster

Hi all.  Dawn here to share my card for our June challenge.

Our challenge this month is a color challenge. We'd like you to use at least three of these colors, as well as black and white and skin tones, for people.

Our Sponsor this month is Poppystamps who will be giving our winner a $20 gift card. Thank you Poppystamps for your generosity.

My card uses an older Poppystamps die - called Floral Cluster.

I made my own coloured cardstock using Altenew inks and my gel plate - I used Canyon Clay, Burnt Red and Mahogany Bark inks direct to my gel plate and brayed to combine.   The colours become more muted and softer then direct to paper or ink blending.  I used some green inks and did the same for my branches and a very light version with Silver Sage and Jade inks for my background.  I embossed that with Altenew's Organic Linen embossing folder.  I die cut two layers of the green branches and then the separate flowers from the various blending I did  I added three over the flowers on the branch and three for around the edge of the die cut oval.  Sentiment was stamped in Gray Denim ink - to keep with the soft muted theme.  The matting layer is actually an olive green ( not as dark looking as the photo)

Do come and join us, using your die cut machine and the colour palette for the challenge.

Flower Medley background in Twinkling watercolours and Gold

Hi, Dawn here to share my Golden card today.   Our lovely sponsor this month is no other than Hero Arts.

We are grateful to them for giving our winner a $50 gift card! So generous. Thank you, Hero Arts.

Our challenge this month is GOLD

My card today is using some older Hero Arts products.  Way back when I first started stamping, some of my first stamps were Hero Arts - first wood stamps, then cling stamps and onto clear stamps.  My wood stamps are getting a bit of workout when my granddaughter comes to play... she handles them better than clear ones.    Anyway today's card uses an older Cling stamp - Flower Medley (discontinued) and Hello There Stamp and Cut set.  see it HERE

I took a panel of black cardstock and using a Gold Embossing powder, I embossed the background stamp.  I then took my very ancient set of Twinkling H2O's..  These are very sparkly, highly pigmented watercolours.   I painted the background with these amazing watercolours.  They look stunning on the black card.  I used my Gina K Master Layouts to cut the panels.   I decided that the purple was a good foil against all that colour.  As the background was so busy, I chose to used a very simply bold die cut sentiment.   I used the Hello Stamp and Die set, cut from black and gold card.  I layer the black slightly offset behind the gold.

Do come and join us with this month's challenge.

With Sympathy -

Hi.  Dawn here to share a card today.

Our sponsor this month is Joy Clair Designs

and we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge

I chose to use the right hand side - at least 2 layers, colour yellow. flowers

I have 3 layers (not including the base) - my first layer is the yellow matting...on top of this is  a white embossed layer.  I printed the Joy Clair image and used a used a Spellbinder die to cut it out.  For my colour yellow - my little bird and the flower - was the one the bird's mouth.  The heartfelt sentiment is also from the Joy Clair set which is "Refresh the Soul"  I printed it before doing the embossing.

Do come and play with out Tic Tac Toe challenge.  You can find the link up HERE

Thanks \

Sunflowers for Summer.

Hi, Dawn here to share a Summer card with you.

Bugaboo Digital Stamps

One of the fun things we did for summer as a child, was to grow sunflowers.

I used this lovely flower from Bugaboo as it reminded me of sunflowers.  The best thing about digital stamps is you can resize and crop to make the image what you want.  I cropped the image and then die cut it with Simon Says Stamp stitched circle die.  I used some green patterned paper to cut a frame for the focal image.  I cut a white panel and embossed it before matting with the green paper.  I finished with a white embossed sentiment from Altenew

Do come and join us here  for this month's challenge.

World's Best Friend

Hi.  It's my turn to share today...

Our challenge theme is Anything New-new dies, stamps, techniques, paper, etc!

My new item is the dies I used... I got them just before Christmas and haven't used them yet.

My Bugaboo image is an older one but one I've always loved.  I used some Copic markers to colour.  I used a die cut to emboss the frame around it, and then added the gold and red die cuts for my label.

Be Happy Butterfly.

Hi there.   Dawn back again to share a card using our Sponsor's product.... and in this month's challenge theme... Using Pink or Red.

We are lucky to have Hero Arts as our sponsor this month.  One of our lucky entrants will win a $25 gift voucher to spend in the Hero Arts store... and how exciting is that.   The wonderful Jennifer McGuire recently did a video showing all the latest release.  SEE HERE.

My card using an older Hero Arts stamp and cut set that has this beautiful butterfly stamp and die

I embossed my white background with an all over butterfly design (very hard to see in my photo)
Here's a better look

I stamped and coloured my butterfly with Copics and die cut him out.  I added a lot of wink of stella glitter and used the excess pink on my brush to add to the centre of the embossed butterflies.
My sentiment comes from the Be Happy stamp set - another of my older Hero Art sets.

I'm ecstatic to see so many wonderful entries this month.  Thanks to everyone who has entered.... and over half the month still to go...

A Christmas Quilt

I'm here today to share a card I've made using an embossing folder together with a digital image from The Stamping Boutique.  They are our fabulous sponsors this month.

http://www.thestampingboutique.com/

I punched out a series of 1.25" squares from three different Christmas paper and adhered them to a scarp of white paper.  I trimmed and then run through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder.  I printed out The Stamp Boutique sentiment (available HERE)  and die cut with a Cottage Cutz stitched oval.   Edged it with some soft green in.

Do come and join us with your wet or dry embossing (or both!)

Embossed wax paper background a la Gina....

Hi all.... just popping in to share some cards I made after watching Gina at StampTV

I couldn't wait to do this technique as it has been a few years since I tried it out... so here's my results of embossed wax background.

I CASE'd Gina's card for this first one.  I used Mermaid Lagoon distress ink to sponge the background.  Not sure who makes my folder as it has no name on it... But it was a great one to use, being very detailed.  I then used the flowers and leaves from Warm Spring Wishes and coloured with Distress inks and daubers before fussy cutting.  The sentiment is from Frame and Flowers 2. I used a La La land die cut for the corners.  And my flourish was one that came with a magazine so has no name on it.  My mat and the corners and flourish are all dark blue card.

And the other half of the ironed off wax paper

This one was sponged with Dried Marigold distress ink.  The flowers are from Frame and Flowers 2 and were stamped with Hero Arts Apricot ink - first layer stamped off and then the second layer being full strength.  The leaves are die cut with a MFT dienamics leaf die.  I added some Spectrum Noir glitter pen on the roses.

If you haven't checked out Gina K design's Stamp TV, I can totally recommend it..
