Arlene likes to color, but many people like to paint in their free time.  Arlene did a tutorial on how she colored this card here.

Monika made a card for a kindergarten teacher, with whom children love to play and spend time

Dawn lives near a beach with a Boating Club so this is for the sailors

LeeAnn loves spending time in her craftroom, and this card just puts it all in her perspective.

Di's Monty Mouse

Our Die Cut Diva's challenge is "Free Time" and the sponsor for the September is Di's Digi Stamps.  Check out the challenge here.

Arlene here. and I found the cutest little mouse at Di's Digis one day and have never used it until now.  I thought this mouse was so cute, really just adorable.  I like the extra flowers, but now that I'm looking at the Nuvo drops, I think fewer would have been better.  But the mouse is still adorable.  What do you think?

I wanted to use two new dies with this wonderful digital image.  I used three different stamps, "a note to say hello, Good Times and an anchor on the top panel.  I cut the bear image out and adhered him on the bottom panel.  It was such fun coloring this bear and I thought he should have that "5 o-clock shadow" look since he's having a snooze.  That's how it feels to me.

Di's Digi Beer Bear
Kat Scrappiness Backdrop die
Your Next Die
Copic markers
Vagabond die cut machine
Distress ink sponged background - not sure of colors as I sponged two entire sheets with all the distress inks I had.

Fun Fall Background with Cover Dies

Hi Everyone! Kristina here today with another card for our fun free time challenge! What do you do in your free time? One of my non-paper related hobbies is backyard birding, which has of course also turned into backyard squirreling! It actually all started with a squirrel that was curious enough to eventually become hand fed. We named her Peanut Butter because thats her favorite treat. She's still with us 6 years later, along with a whole host of other friends. They eat me out of house and home!

The Process

  • I started with a beige piece of a2 sized card stock for my base, and on top layered two die cut panels going opposite directions to create a multi-toned background in a plaid pattern.
  • Next I stamped colored and cut out an image from a Neat & Tangled stamp set
  • I adhered my image down to my background with foam squares, and adhered the whole panel down to an a2 sized card base.
Next time you see a squirrel remember your crazy squirrel lady friend from the Die Cut Divas' blog! So crazy I've actually had my yard certified as a Wildlife Habitat by the national wildlife federation. Here's my little peanut butter patiently waiting for a snack.

Until next time :)

Supplies

** The background die I used from Lil Inker has unfortunately been discontinued but you can try this technique with many back ground dies.

Our September Challenge is "Free Fun Time".  You got it.  What do you do with your free time that is fun for you?  September is time when kids are back in school and a lot of parents consider it time to do some of the fun things they want to do.  Tell us what you like to do in your project.  Do you paint, sew, craft?  Be sure to let us know how FREE FUN TIME is reflected in your project.

Here is my project-

Living in Oregon, we have lots of areas to camp, hunt and fish. Fun time for us means getting back to nature once in a while, and watching wildlife is very easy and relaxing. For more information on this card, please join me at Just A Nutter Paper Crafter.

Hello,

Cindy here to share another Free For Fun project featuring  Di's Digi Daisy Fun Stamp.  During the summer months, other than gardening, we enjoy getting together with our friends, and we do enjoy our wine.

For today's project I printed the Daisy Fun Digi stamp twice on white multi media paper, watercolored and handcut the critters out.

To create this wine party I gave each of the critter a glass of wine (image from Taylored Expression Today's Menu), set them up on top of a burlap picnic blanket, added fruits and wine bottle.  The background was watercolor in an ombre fashion with green on the bottom and blue on the top.  Then the panel is die cut using Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Dies and adhered to a white card base.  I added some glossy accent onto the glasses and bottle.  Love that shine!  :)

What's your idea of Free For Fun?  Show us with your crafting project and join the challnege.  Just click 'This Month's Challenge' on the right sidebar to get more details and link up.  :)

Thanks for visiting.  Cheers!!
