Happy Birthday with PoppyStamps

Hi! Sue here with a card for our May Challenge. Our challenge for the month of May is

CELEBRATIONS

I chose birthday as the focus for my CELEBRATION card. Here's my card.

I used a couple of retired PoppyStamps products for my card. For the birds, I die cut them with PoppyStamps' Flock of Birds dies from white cardstock. I added color with distress inks - cracked pistachio, wilted violet and mermaid lagoon, mini ink blending brushes and a sticky mat to hold the pieces ink place. For the sentiment, I used a scrap of 100 lb bristol and ink smooshed with the same three distress inks to cover the scrap. I then die cut using PoppyStamps' Happy Birthday Poe Script die. I used a purple circle to help focus one's gaze and glued the birds and sentiment to it. I glued the circle to a light gray A2 card base which was then adhered to a white A2 card base to finish my card. While I used retired PoppyStamps products to create my card, they sell many other dies which could be used instead.

Celebrating a new mom

 Hello everyone,

It's Cindy here.  I am sharing a Mother's Day card created for a new mom in the family.

The card base is Poppystamps Fern and Daisy Pop Up Easel card, it was sent to me by a dear teamie and I have kept it safe in my treasure bin, but today is the day to use it.  😉

I first did a light wash of watercolor on the detail panel, then I use an inking tool to add layers of distress inks and ink blended the oval center.  Then I gold heat embossed the sentiment on the top oval piece.  I assembler the card base and adhere the focal element using foam adhesive.

The focal element is Poppystamps Nordic Spectacular Butterfly I die cut using both pattern paper and a ivory shimmery color paper.  

For the stopper, I used clear seal wax and Spellbinders Butterfly Mini Wax Seal stamp.

Cindy's celebrating parenthood.

Arlene needed a birthday card this month so she chose a color combo of navy blue, yellow and white.  As you can see, she left the door open for business - cakes in the window - ahhh - a bakery.
