Stacked Turtles

Hi  - Dawn here to share a watercoloured card using stamps from our sponsor this month

Art Impressions

Our theme for the month is Watercolours - Real or Faux.    Art Impressions will be giving our winner a $25 gift card. Thank you, Art Impressions for your generosity.

I used Art Impressions Turtle Stackers stamp set and stamped onto some Mixed Media paper.  I used Onxy Black ink and clear embossed it.  This helps keep the watercolour in the right spots.  I used Altenew Woodless Watercolour pencils to add my watercolouring.  They are so easy to use, scribble some colour and the use a paintbrush with blend.  I decided to make my turtles in rainbow colours!  Something a little bit fun!  I die cut the panel and the matting panel with Waffle Flower Deckled Frame dies.  Added some blue watercolour splatters and added some homemade enamel dots with Spectrum Noir sparkle pen on them.   I also added the sparkle pen onto the turtle shells.

Do come and join us with your watercolour (real or faux) projects  Here

Watercoloring with Nuvo Shimmer Powders

Hello... Dawn here to share a card with some watercoloring.

Altenew is our sponsor this month, and the challenge prize is Altenew Artists' Watercolor 24 Pan Set ($49.99 value).   Altenew will issue a 100% discount code to the winner.

This month's challenge: Watercoloring

Don't forget to you also have to use a die/embossing  etc - anything as long as you use your die cut machine.

I used Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit - Hello Beautiful in this card.   I started by using Altenew silver embossing powder to emboss the largest flower from the stamp set in the kit onto some mixed media paper.   For my watercolouring I took some Nuvo shimmer powders and tapped a small amount into the wells in a painting palette and added some water. I used a blue, pinky red, yellow and green powders.   This makes the most amazing shimmery paint.  I added the paint to the image using two colours on each flower and leaf.   Once it had dried I used the matching dies to cut it out.    Next step was to die cut a panel using Altenew's Mix and Match frame dies and add some splatters with the paints and some with black paint as well.   I layered this panel over some light green card so you can see it through the holes.   The sentiment is from Altenew's Sentiment Strips #3.  It's layered onto some silver card.

I hope you're inspired to play along, I'll see you in the challenge gallery.
