Sending caring thoughts your way

Poppystamps is our September sponsor, the challenge prize is $20 gift card to their store.

The challenge this month is "Sympathy".  Our immediate thoughts run to the loss of a loved one, human or pet, but can extend further.  You can be sympathetic over a runaway pet or a person getting a cold, surgery or even having to take a tough exam.

Here is the card I made -

I have used Poppystamps Grosgrain Ribbon and Grosgrain Bow dies and added across my card panel that has been ink blended with some Altenew Pink Pearl.  I used some Fabriano white (it's more of an off white) card for the panel (160gms) and made my base from heavy (240gms) card.  I then used Poppystamps Floral Cluster - cutting the branches and leaves die from green card which I ink blended with some Altenew Hunter Green to deepen the colour.   There are some separate flower dies in the set so I took a piece of card that Grace had made when she came to visit a couple of weeks ago.  She had used some Lindy's Gang sprays and some Distress Spritz.  I layered the smaller flowers onto the bigger ones and added a little yellow gem centre.    Sentiment from an older Hero Arts set - With Sympathy.

Do come and join our challenge with your Sympathy cards.

A Poppystamps Easel Card Made With Love

Arlene here, standing in for Linda as she needs to visit family, but she will be back soon.

The challenge is "Sympathy".

I love working with the Poppy Stamps and dies to make Easel cards.  This die set is so versatile and could be used for all kinds of situations and events, just as I used it here for a Sympathy card.

I chose soft pink and maroon red card stock combination for my card.  I surprised myself with how well this worked.  I took a side view shot on my blog also.

Be sure to enter our challenge this month with your beautiful cards.
My card is a fairly simple card (really, it is).

A With Sympathy Card and PoppyStamps

Hi! Sue here today with a card using products by our Sponsor this month, PoppyStamps. They generously will be giving our winner a $20 gift card. Thank you PoppyStamps.

Our challenge for the month of September is SYMPATHY.

I find making sympathy cards a bit challenging because of the intense feelings of grief associated with a loss. I hope that my sympathy cards bring the recipient some solace. As I age, sadly I find that I need more sympathy cards. Here's my card

For my card, I used PoppyStamps' Flower Field Corner craft die and a retired PoppyStamps' Peony Stems and Blossoms stamp set. For details on how I created my card, check out my foleysfriend blog.

Would love to see your SYMPATHY creations using die cut(s) in our gallery this month.

Spring Daffodils

Hi Divas, it's Dawn here to share another card to inspire you.

this month's sponsor, SheepSki Designs. Our random winner from eligible August entries can chose 3 images from SheepSki!

For our August Challenge we're doing embossing - wet or dry; I chose to do dry.

I've used a delightful Spring image (Jo's Daffodills) for my card, with a dry embossed background

Used some Momento Toffee Crunch to add colour to the Tim Holtz Alterations folder before running it through my machine.  Love the grungy look with the elegance of the focal image.   I printed and then used a variety of alcohol markers to add the colour.  Die cut with Spellbinders Nestibilites - Petite Ovals and Petite Scalloped Ovals.  The sentiment from Couture Creations was die cut and then stamped with Altenew Honey Drizzle ink.

Thanks for visiting & we hope to see you in the August Gallery by 9pm Pacific on the 31st of August.  Be sure to include either die cuts (if doing wet embossing) or an embossing folder in your design.

Here is my project-

This is one of a dozen Thank You cards I made for my sister. She lost her daughter to cancer, and wanted to thank the hospice workers who made her last weeks bearable. I didn't think this needed a sentiment, as the embossing folder and image were enough. If you would like more info on this card, follow this link.
