What's your favourite flower die?

Do you have lots of flower dies?  I do.... from Tim Holtz Tattered Florals, to rolled roses dies from Die-namics, Memory Box silhouette flower dies, Simon Says silhouette dies, Cherry Lynn flower dies.... so many different dies.

One of my favourites has to be Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tattered Florals die.  It is so versatile

There are 4 different sized and shaped flowers.  So you can do so much with it.
Today I am sharing a card I made that uses a flower I made with this die.  I had some instruction from my friend Sue on how to make lovely flowers.... It's all about wetting the die cut and scrunching it up, leaving it to dry and then carefully unsrunch and layer together... the thing is to be patient and wait for the petals to dry fully...

As you can see the texture you get this technique.

So hopefully you'll get your dies and embossing folders out and join us for the July summer flowers challenge... link up your project here

Happy 4th of July to the U.S.A.

Happy July 4th, Independence Day, to the U.S.A.  This is the day most Americans don't have to go into work and can plan family celebrations and get-togethers.  It's a time of parades, fireworks and parties.  Long before the 4th, you can hear firecrackers popping and booming into the night.

Arlene here, and we have a great place in Sacramento to see a grand fireworks display at the State Fair Grounds.  After a long hot day, it's nice to sit back and watch the night display.   Since the 4th falls on a Thursday, most of us don't want to go back to work on Friday.... so I'm NOT!

Here is my card to celebrate the day.   This Bugaboo image rather reminded me of yesteryear and I just had to use it.  Information on the image is on my blog.

Hannah Celebrates Independence Day  swimming, grilling, and watching fireworks and sending some off too!  One of the things she remembers doing as a kid (and still does occasionally) is "booby trapping" all the cars in her drive way with "snap n' pops" and watching everyone drive off with a bang

This card here is a picture of a Continental Girl of 1776  with the declaration of independence behind her.

We thought that we might take a moment to reflect on life and the world.

Thank you for stopping by.

Some more Flower inspiration

Hi all.    Dawn back with some more inspiration.  I love flowers on my cards and making them is fun.   Especially if you use your dies to cut them.

The flower on this card is a Spellbinders Poinsettia that was a great favourite for me last Christmas.  This one was cut and then embossed.

and here is the same die used done in white

I also love using  Die-namics rolled roses dies... I have several of them.

and using a Cherry Lyn flower die set

so hope these give you some inspiration.  Pop back tomorrow as we have a post for 4th of July.... and some adorable cards to share.

And just a quick note from our sponsors this month... Bugaboo...

Summer Flowers ~ July's Challenge

Welcome to July's challenge.  Dawn here and it's my turn to challenge you.  Those of you in the Northern Hemisphere are well and truly into summer by now ( I hope)  so my challenge this month is to use flowers on your projects.... maybe some die cut flowers, maybe a flower stamp, some flower embellishments, the choice is yours!  Just as long as you use your die cutting machine somewhere on your project.

Our fabulous sponsor this month is BUGABOO DIGI STAMPS!  Bugaboo is a digital stamp company and they have crazy stamps, cute stamps, and catch your breath, beautiful stamps.   Their stamps are fun to colour and sentiments fun to read.  There's a free digital stamp every Friday, so please visit Bugaboo Digi Stamps to catch your freebie!

Remember, you have to use a die-cut or something embossed from your machine.  You do NOT have to use a Bugaboo Digital in your creation.  However, if you use a Bugaboo Digital, I will award 3 chances to win.  If you do not use a Bugaboo Digital, I will award  one chance to win.  You MUST also let us know if you are using a Bugaboo stamp or you won't be awarded your 3 chances.   Do remember that Bugaboo has free digital stamps on Friday.  And remember you can enter up to 4 projects each month.
