Thank You to Kaisercraft

Entries into the June challenge have been closed.  Midnight is not far away and the July challenge will open up.

KaiserCraft is a great company and we thank them so muc.

Arlene seems to have a lot of butterflies in her stamp collection because here's Arlene's last card of the month with a Kaisercraft flight of butterflies.  Arlene has another butterfly card at A Bit of This and That for you to see also.

Not only did Arlene used Kaisercraft butterflies, Cindy also used Texture - Butterflies from Kaisercraft to make a Thank You card.  See how she does it on her blog:  Escape to Stamping.

Michelle used the Kaisercraft Butterflies, paper and sentiment for this card-

Feathered Sympathy

I'm back to share another card using products from our sponsor, Kaisercraft.   I have used a Feather Embossing folder from the latest release
Embossing Folder 4x6 Feather
This folder is simplicity itself... Just this large feather in the centre of the folder

After embossing the flower up towards the top of my card.  The bottom panel is a made using Geo Builders by Catherine Pooler for the StampNation SOA Collection.   The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set.  Love the simplicity of this card.

Come back tomorrow to see us say thanks to Kaisercraft.

KaiserCraft Paper

I found I couldn't live without purchasing some of this great paper.  I'm so excited to start my next cards.  I found new papers and then some of the paper KaiserCraft sent the Divas to play with.  I played and then I had to have it.  I love the blue wood-like paper in the back.  It's called Bohemian from the Boho Draams Collection.

See the lower left of the photograph?  That's Passport from the "Just Landed Collection". The two brown and black papers are actually the back and front sides of the Passport papers.

Papers:
Passport from "Just Landed Collection" - the brow/tan and black sentiment papers
Bohemian from "Boho Dreams Collection" - blue wood-grain & orange background with girl taking photo
World Map from "Just Landed Collection"- the map and the back is not shown here - (dark brown with large circles - looks like large rain-drops)
Baggage from "Just Landed Collection" - baggage in upper right wtan graph background for the back side
Subway from "Just Landed Collection" - central light blue paper with thin strip to immediate right of paper is a 1 1/2 inch strip of paper - the back of the subway paper.

All Night Long

Die Cut Divas has an Anything Goes challenge this month.

The prize is great and so are our sponsor's products.

Our sponsor is Kaisercraft!

I could make cards with this paper all night long.  Do you hear that song running through your head now?  I do... all night long, all night, all night long.

PLUS, I just ordered Just Landed - Passport because it's available for sale now!  I'm LOVING it.

Using a Kaisercraft paper panel here with just a couple stamps and a die from the stamp/die set Road Trip made this an easy card to put together.  The card base is not Kaisercraft, but I thought it went well with the "NOTES" panel.

Again I used a Kaisercraft paper panel and embossing folder.  Just a stamp and die from the stamp/die set Road Trip made this another easy card to put together.

Here's another Kaisercraft paper panel with just a stamp (now boarding) from the set Road Trip.  So easy to make this card with a cityscape that I didn't use on another project.  The cityscape is cut from a tissue box.  Never forget to up-cycle. I pop-dotted the die-cut on the sides off the main central panel.

Supplies:
Kaisercraft Stamp and Die Set Road Trip
Kaisercraft 12" X 12" paper Just Landed - Passpor

Kaisercraft embossing folder 4" X 6" Triangles

Kaisercraft Happiness

Well I was speaking to a really good friend of mine this week, she seemed really down and flat. So I decided that what she needed was a little bit of happiness in her post - or as I like to call them a happiness card and with Kaisercraft products I can't go wrong. Here is what I created using all Kaisercraft products:
Diecut Divas, Kaisercraft Boho Dreams Boheminan
Kaisercraft Take Note 6 1/2 paper pad for background papers and accents.
Boho Dreams Boheminian for focal image.

Round the World Dream Catcher

Hi, Cindy here.  Today I am sharing a card inspired by one of the images on the beautiful pattern paper from Kaisercraft - Bohemian from the Boho Dream Collection (soon to be released in July).

Here's my inspiration image:

And here's my card:

I used the Round the World cutting die and cut six die cuts from scrap paper, and use them as stencils.  Then I sponged Broken China and Chipped Sapphire to create that ombre background.  Next I die again the Round the World using a bluish grey card stock.  And die cut some feathers using vellum.  The feathers are slightly distressed with the same ink.  Then I tie them up and thread some beads to the Round the World die cut to create my verion of the dream catcher.

Here's a closer look:

There's still plenty time to enter June's challenge - Anything Goes.  And our generous sposor is Kaisercraft.

Supplies:

Kaisercraft cutting die - Round the World
Impression Obsession cutting die - DIE143-R
Ranger Distress Ink - Broken China, Chipped Sapphire
Others: beads, metal wire

Have a lovely day!

Guest Designer Collette Mitrega

We are incredibly honored to have Guest Designer Collette Mitrega joining us this month.
Collette is a member of the Kaisercraft Design Team and she has graciously allowed us to peek into her corner of the world.
Here are the answers to the questions we always want to know:

How long have you been a papercrafter and when did you get started?
Oh! now I will be giving away my age! I saw my first stamp demo at a craft show in the 70's and I have been hooked ever since

What is your favourite type of papercrafting, card making, scrapbooking, mixed media etc?
Card making is number one with scrapbooking being a close second! But I do love anything that involves pretty paper!

How would you describe your style?
Eclectic - a bit of everything. Having taught for over 15 years I have tried most things and love lots. I switch happily from sweet and simple to messy and grungy!

Do you like to follow sketches, yours or others or do you dive right in?
I tend to dive right in. The paper gives me a direction and I play, move things around a bit, add a little something here and there and then it just happens.

How often do you get to craft?
I craft every day. You will always find me 'playing' well into the wee hours of the morning. I work during the day in an amazing craft shop (which I own!) in Hervey Bay Queensland (Australia) - The Arts and Crafts Superstore! Although I don't create during the day, I certainly get inspired as I talk to wonderful customers and see new product arriving!

What is your favourite tool (what can't you create without) and why?
I must say I do love my Kaisercraft Paper Trimmer. I love that it is slightly bigger than most. As well as cutting straight, it can be used to measure, cut creative lines, score and so much more.

What is your favourite technique?
I love Die cutting and embossing - what a great way to step up the look of a card!

What at the moment is your most favourite thing to do on a project?
I love to spritz a little and use texture paste and stencils, such nice messy fun!

Have you been published or are you on a Design Team, when and where?
Most months I can be found in a magazine. I feel very honored to be on the Design Team for Practical Publishing International which publishes many magazines including the wonderful Australian Simply Cards. I have also been on the Kaisercraft Design Team for the past two years and I love it! It is such a fabulous team and I get to play with amazing products!

Describe or if possible supply pictures of your crafting area.
I have just recently moved from my lovely home and as we build our new one, we have rented a small house close to my shop. Here is a pic of my old work area. I have a large room dedicated to craft so I could spread out, more often that not, it was extremely messy!
Usually you cannot see my desk when I am working!
Do you have a blog? If not where can we see more of your fabulous creations?
Blog: Lillybits
My You tube Channel which has over 30 card making videos : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtqz4jv6k3hxSIuoc3A9D8g

and of course here are just a few of Collette's favourites

Collette will be back later in the month with a card making video but until then check out her blog, you tube channel and of course Kaisercrafts blog here for more inspiration.

A Photo page

I'm trying something a bit different for me for my sample today.   - I've made a Photo page.

Our Sponsor this month is Kaisercraft and I got to work with a fabulous stamp and Die Set called Smile.

I'm no Scrapbooker, I get intimidated by a 12x12 page, so I've made a 8x8 page that I intend to frame.

I stamped and die cut the camera. the arrow and the word Smile from the set and after trimming and layering the photo, used the other sentiment - amazing Memories.   This is the photo taken when hubby and I first meet our Grandson.

Thanks to Kaisercraft for being a great sponsor.

Upcycled photo frame

Hi everyone,

June's challenge theme is Anything Goes, and our sponsor is KAISERCRAFT.  The prize is an amazing package worth $50 Australian.

For my project today I embellished an upcycled photo frame with die cuts, mixture of new and old pattern paper from KAISERCRAFT, chipborad, and a little bit of stamping.

I striped off all the original paper from the frame and covered it with a piece of pattern paper that came with a crafting magazine.   Then I embellished it as shown in the photos.

Here are some close ups:

The camera panel is cut from pattern paper named Bohemian from the Boho Dream Collection.  The cutting die for the globe is called Round The World.
The "Beautiful" tag is from the Bohemian paper.  The "Perfect Holiday" strip is from an older collection called Now Boarding.  The "Journey of a Thousand Miles" strip is cut from pattern paper called Passport from the Just Landed Collection.
The 'holiday' sticker is from an older collection called Check In.  The Polaroid chipboard is by Maya Road.  I covered it with plain white paper and added a strip of paper from the Bohemian paper.  The stamp image is from Hero Arts.
Both "Arrow" and "Best" tag are cut from Bohemian paper.  The "Day" are stickers from the Check In Collection.

To add dimension to the tags and camera panel, I cut matting boards to match their size and adhere to their backs before gluing onto the frame.

Supplies:
KAISERCRAFT Cutting Die: Round The World
Hero Arts Clear Stamp: Travel Journal
Memento Dye Ink: Tuxedo Black
Brads
Cardstock in Salmon Rose

I Love the Paper

This months theme is Anything Goes and our fantastic sponsor is Kaisercraft!

And wait til you see the winning prize.

Obviously, I couldn't stop myself from stamping
and cutting and layering.

I cut this panel,Favourite Places, from a 12" X 12" paper fell in love with.  I cut many of the panels out and used them as a foundation of my stamping.  This panel is stamped with the stamp/die set "Road Trip".

This little photographer is a panel cut from the Kaisercraft paper that I thought made a statement all by itself. Don't you love her?

Who can go wrong with a statement like this?

You can see my other cards at A Bit of This and That.

Remember that it's "Anything Goes" for the challenge this month.

May's Winner Announced

Whoo hoo.... our winner is:

Congratulations.  Please email us at the email shown on our blog side bar and we'll let your know how to get your prize.

DT Favorites

My favourite for this month used old mismatched buttons which coordinated beautifully with the vintage theme of the project, CarolG.

(2016 c25) Smith Family Reunion Tag

Arlene's favorite is this fantastic shaker card by MA-MI.  I never thought of creating three separate windows in a card and it seems to be perfect.  Love the colors and total cheerfulness of the card.

Michelle's pick this month was Sarah, and she really appreciated all the intricate details on this piece-

Cindy's favorite is how Katrina was inspired by the button photo to create her adorable layout.  And her baby sure is cute as a button!

Dawn's favourite is by Zelda

Thanks to all our entrants this month.   Please do come back and check out our June Challenge.... it's Anything Goes!
