Thank You, Crafty Sentiments Designs

A Great Big Thank You to
Crafty Sentiments Designs
Our Die Cut Divas' fantastic sponsor has been Crafty Sentiments Designs.

He really is precious.

A close-up for you.  I colored him in Copics on cold water press water color paper.

As you can tell, we have our favorites.  I love this little boy asleep in his chair.  Such a darling little boy and he can be used for a birthday as well as Christmas, even though he's hanging out in the Christmas collection here.

A winner for the month of November will be announced on December 2nd.

the holiday rush and a quick card

Boy is it a busy time here in the USA, the hustle and bustle has already begun as people shop for Thanksgiving  and Christmas, the weather has been very could here in Missouri, but we are still waiting for snow.

Today I wanted to share this sweet girl with you,  she is quite ready for Christmas in this red and green.
And I just love to use background stamps, the flourish seemed to be perfect for this image as it could represent a cold windy day, and just went to well with the old letter writing, and it almost looks like tone on tone patterned paper.
It was quite simple to make as well when you might be in a , I colored her with copics and cut her out, then I die cut my oval and inked it up with a red background, then I stamped my card base , and stamped my greeting, and assembled all the pieces giving the girl a lift with some pop dots and viola she is ready to mail!

I'm loving all the entries thus far, and happy to see so many of you joining us.
Happy holiday shopping and don't forget to get your wish list out there too , in hopes to receive more crafting goodies 😉

You'd Think it was Snowing

Check out the challenge for the November/December challenges - November's sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs.

And here is a wonderful snowman I'd like to share with you.  Isn't he adorable?  I believe he's male because he is wearing brown buttons.and is ever so cute.  I couldn't make just one.  The blue stripped panel is from a tissue box I pre-cut and just thought it worked here.

I'm into blues and purples this year and love the colors on this snowman.  I took Distress Paints, Picket Fence, Broken China, Salty Ocean, and Mowed Lawn and swished them across the kraft note card after stamping the Hero Arts sentiment.  Some Stickles found its way onto the strips of color too - creates such a cheery card.  I'm still loving the snowman.
The cute snowman can be found here.  I didn't know I would love this guy so much.  He's super easy to color and he's FUN too.

Saying HELLO!

Sometimes you just want to say HELLO and I thought a closeup of this sweet girl on a swing would be perfect, PLUS, I didn't stamp the rest of the flowers below her waist very well at all.  So we have a closeup.
Crafty Sentiments Designs is the Die Cut Divas' sponsor this month, so don't forget to visit them.  Crafty Sentiments Designs has a 50% sale going on NOW!  Visit NOW so you don't miss it.

I love the girl here, so cute and perky.  You can find her here.  You can enter the Die Cut Divas' challenge HERE!  The challenge this month is Celebrations and Holidays.

I colored her with Distress markers and water color brush.  The Hero Arts Envelope Pattern background (S5507)was inked with Memento Danube Blue, perfect color to go with the scrap of blue paper I found on my desk.  She's ready to say hello to someone.

I guess Dawn and I like the same images.  Dawn's swinging girl is awesome!  See our previous post.

Let's get to know Dawn.

·   Hi Lovelies,
Today I would like to introduce a fellow Diva Dawn.  I am so pleased to have her as my guest for this month.

  •       Tell us a little about yourself
I’m a New Zealander, living in Auckland which is in the North Island of New Zealand.  It’s the biggest city in New Zealand.  I live about ½ kilometre from two different beaches, so have a distraction during the summer.  I’m in my mid 50’s, have two kids (both left home) and a very patient, indulgent hubby
  •          How long have you been a card maker/scrapper & when did you start?
I started card making about 6 or 7 years ago after talking to an older lady when we both reached for a stamping magazine at the same time.  She invited me to come to one of the local stamp stores the next day(Saturday) for their monthly group…. And rest is history!!!!

  •          Do you follow sketches or dive right in?
I love sketches and collect them on my Pinterest board, but often just dive in.  But if I find I’m lacking some mojo I’ll go look through my sketches to get a kick start.

·         How many projects do you make a week?
It really varies.  Some weeks I’m on a roll and 4 or 5 will be produced (all done in the  evenings as I work full time).  Weekends I do as much as I can… and then other weeks I struggle to do 1.

·         What is your favourite tool (what can't you create without) & why?
Hard one here…. I love using my Cuttlebug and have a multitude of embossing folders and dies.   I must have about 100 odd dies (OMG I hadn’t realised it was so many till I started counting!)    I also use my Scorpal to fold my card bases on most cards.  And my newest tool is my Envelope Punch.  So much fun.

·         How would you describe your style?
CAS or at least not too embellished.  I do like a little bit of embellishing but not too over the top.  My cards are generally a couple of layers.
·         What about your style would you change (or not) & why?
I don’t think I would change anything.  Less is more is my motto.

·         Have you been published or on a Design team - when & where?
I’ve not actually been published as such, but one of my cards got a Highly Commended in Australian Cardmaker of the Year last year, and was shown in the magazine.  I’ve been on a few Design teams and at present am on 3 DT’s as well as being one of the Die Cut Divas!  Just enough to keep me on my toes.

·         Describe (pictures are even better) your crafting area
A MESS!!!!!  No pictures as it’s way too messy.  I’m a very messy creator.  VERY MESSY!!!! Hubby is always onto me to tidy up…. I keep starting then get side tracked.  I’m lucky to have a whole room all to myself with a couple of desks and 3 door cupboard but still manage to spread all over the floor, under the desks, on top of the filing cabinet… you get the picture!

·         Do you have a blog? If not where can we see more of your fabulous creations?
Yes I do…http://dawnsworldnz.blogspot.com   and you can catch my Flickr photostream
http://www.flickr.com/photos/turleyfamily/ or even on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/dawn.turley.3

She's quite charming!

I thought I'd post a little gal that's the cutest Christmas gal I know.  Paula, Hope you don't mind, but I adore her and wanted to share!

Do you like using Tim Holtz Distress Markers on watercolor paper?  I DO!  Love how vivid the colors are and this little girl is a special gal and I loved coloring her.  The poinsettia was die-cut and colored with Copic markers R24 and R29.  The leaves are cut out of a gauzy sheer green ribbon.  You can find her at Crafty Sentiments Designs here.   The unmounted stamp is from Crafty Sentiments Designs, our sponsor for November.

I think the poinsettia goes well with the colors on the image. A red heart gem is perfect here.  Be sure to join the Die Cut Divas challenge at Die Cut Divas challenge page..

Five times the fun.

Hi Lovelies,

Today I thought I would share what I look for when buying craft supplies like dies & embossing folders.

Below is a new set of Dies that I brought recently.

A few years back now a friend of mine said that if you are going to buy any craft item make sure you can use it at least five different ways/times so that you get your money's worth from it.  Which is why these dies found their way into my supplies. I love the different edges & I can see shaped cards, stamped images & tabs beings some of things I will make using these dies.  In fact my next card will have one of these dies on it.  I can even see place settings being created with these.  I now just need some more time in my day to do all these things.

Happy crafting.

Crafty Sentiment Designs.

Hi Lovelies,

Today we thought we'd share a little more about our sponsor this month.  Suzette the owner of Crafty Sentiment Designs shares some answers with us about her wonderful shop.

1. How did your Company come about?

I started off first  doing cross stitch but I have always been a crafty person in one way or the other. I start going to craft shows and watching Create and Craft I got into cardmaking.  I wanted to use something different and unique and I decided that I could bring my own ideas and designs to the market and that is where Crafty Sentiments Designs came about. I started off with clear sentiments stamps, digital image and added rubber stamps and dies I design all the sentiments and some images and my very talented  Artist Justyna create the lovely range of rubber stamps on the website.

2. How long have you been in business?
Crafty Sentiments Designs is still a young company and have been around for just 3 years now.

3. Where can we find you?We are an online base company and can be found at www.craftysentimentsdesigns.co.uk and we are also on twitter and facebook.

4. Can anyone shop with you?
Yes anyone can shop with us as we ship worldwide.

5. What is one of your favourite products that you carry & why?
I love all the products, it is hard! One of my favourites  will be the dies, I think it is because I design each and everyone of them. I also love the stamps all of them as they are cheeky, cute, some have lovely expressions and just fun to work with.

6. Do you craft & how often do you get a chance to do so?I do craft when I can and try to put something on my personal blog  every other week. I work part - time in the NHS so my night shifts get the better of me unfortunately and I don't get the time to craft as I want to.

Thank you Suzette for sharing how your company came about.

'Twas the night

Hi Lovelies,

Today I'd like to share another wonderful digi image with you from Crafty Sentiments Designs.  They have some of the cutest designs.  As soon as I saw this cute image I thought of how kids like to try & stay awake until Santa comes.  So that was the inspiration behind this cute card.

I'm loving all the entries so far, they look amazing.
