Anything goes with Kaisercraft

It's the first day of June and that means it's time for a new challenge here at the Die Cut Divas. This months theme is Anything Goes and our fantastic sponsor is Kaisercraft!

Hope you all join us.
Here is a look at the prize - valued at $50 Australian.

Arlene went a little crazy over the Kaisercraft paper.  Her favorite card is made with some gorgeous blue gray wood grain cardstock, a fantastic quote and Triangles embossing folder.  The crocheted doily flower has been in her box for years.  Not anymore. See Arlene at A Bit of This and That.

Michelle went CAS with her card, using Kaisercraft butterflies & dies, and sentiment (from the Way of Life set)

Cindy layered up a few things on top of an embossed panel.  Check her blog: Escape To Stamping for more details.

Hannah had fun with the feather embossing folder, adding ink to the folder before running it through the machine

Dawn loved the patterned paper and the Smile Stamp and Die set

Cathie also choose to showcase one of Kaisercraft's new embossing folders with some colour added afterwards.
Check out her blog House of Borowski for more details.

Your photo inspiration can be found by clicking on the "This Month Challenge Here" button on the right side of our blog.

I've used the beautiful image below a few years ago, but I so love the ways you can color or use different elements to make a truly unique card.  How can you resist?  I couldn't.

A Day for Daisies "Braid in My Hair" image is here.

And I love this image too.  I cropped this and colored, then found some creative paper and went die-cut button happy with it too.  I have to say I love the hair color - wish it were mine!  I so love these images.

Very Sweet and magical

Hello! This month here at Die Cut Diva's our sponsor is-

Our theme for the month is an inspiration photo-

Here is my project:

I used the free image Holding Fireflies by A Day for Daisies. I really liked how my watercolored background turned out. I used Friskit masking fluid and my fingertip to make the circles for the fireflies, and I used an old toothbrush and Frisket to make a Milky Way in the sky. After the Friskit was dry, I added the Brushos (Emerald for the ground, Black, Purple and Dark Blue for the sky). After everything was dry I rubbed off the Friskit, and colored the " fireflies" with Lemon and Orange Brusho's. I added a star button on the banner to contribute to the night sky.

For more information on the materials I used, please join me a Just A Nutter Paper Crafter.

I picked several colours (orange, red, aqua blue/green, charcoal grey and light brown) from the inspiration photo as the colours of the image.   To make the birds and critter stand out, I added stickles to them.  The row of tiny buttons at the bottom are stamped from this Hero Arts set, and fussy cut.

Here's a close up shot so you could see the glitter:

Girl with blue birds

Hi there...

Another sample to inspire you this month.  Our inspiration this month is this photo from our very own Carol.

I chose to use this image for my card

I used Copics to colour my Beauty and then I die cut wit a MFT rounded rectangle die.  I added a lace die cut from Couture Creations.  It is a very intricate die and took about three times for me to it cleanly cut.  Well worthwhile though...

Flowers in Bottles

Hello,

Cindy here to share a card made using one of the many lovely images by A Day For Daisies, who is our sponsor this month.

For the month of May we have a photo inspiration:

Here's my card:

I coloured the image with Copic markers, and added a bit of shine with Wink of Stella.  Then I make some tiny holes and thread some twine around a few of the bottles and embellish with a few buttons from my collection.  I have a bag of buttons just like the inspiration photo!!  LOL  I have been collecting them for a long time, and finally a perfect opportunity to use some.  You could see my collection on my blog post Here.  Then I trimmed the image out and adhere to an embossed card.

Vintage Lady

Our Sponsor is A Day for Daisies

Join the challenge at Die Cut Divas HERE.

We have a photo inspiration for you and the photo inspired this card.
I see the buttons with a vintage view.

A HISTORY OF BUTTONS
In Stories of Mother Goose, little Tommy Tucker says, "You know what a charm string is. Just ever so many pretty buttons strung together and worn around your neck." Nineteenth century folk wisdom had it that a girl should acquire 999 buttons on a string. When she added the thousandth, she would meet her Prince Charming.

These strings of buttons, sometimes called "memory strings," were a fad of the 1860s that remained popular until 1900. Delightful stories have been handed down. One is that each friend and member of the family donate a button. Another is that a charm string was a game or rivalry, not a romantic pursuit. Gaining the thousandth button doomed the girl to spinsterhood.

Another story credits the idea of charm strings to a mid-19th century newspaper competition.
In all these folklore accounts, there are similar rules and requirements for gathering the buttons: They should be one-of-a-kind, the prettiest and most brilliant available. Preferably they should be gifts from friends, suitors or family members or traded with another stringer. They should not be bought. While unfinished, the charm string was kept in plain view to inspire visitors to contribute buttons and also to boast and tell colorful stories of acquisition. "This button was given by Aunt Abigail from the gown she wore to the Inaugural Ball," or "this button was from Grandfather's Civil War uniform."
I wanted something light in color and I think this worked out the way I wanted.
